League of Arab States – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA) headed the General Annual meeting of AROQA at the League of Arab States in Cairo - Egypt with the participation of AROQA members representing various educational institutions in the Arab countries. 
In the opening of the meeting, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh thanked HE Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary General of the league of Arab States for his patronage of the 9th Annual Conference of AROQA and the 6nd International platform on integrating Arab e-Infrastructures, and his instructions, guidance, and nomination of HE Ambassador Dr. Badereddine Al Alali, Arab League Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector.
After duly considering the various items on the agenda, the meeting resolves decisions in regard to AROQA’s operations and management to continue to support quality assurance and accreditation in education across the Arab region. The general annual meeting re-elects HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh as Chairman of the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education. 
HE. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of developing school and university Ranking in Arab educational institutions to raise awareness of quality, and to continue dialogue and cooperation between educational institutions, accreditation bodies and quality organizations in education in order to consolidate the concepts of quality and accreditation in the Arab region.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh instructs to work on the development and updating of standards and indicators of quality in education and academic accreditation through an independent committee that is working under the umbrella of the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education. He also instructs  all members and international organizations, Arab universities members, accreditation centers and experts to support quality in education through the dissemination of activities and events in cooperation with the international bodies specialized in the quality of education. It is important to focus on the quality of education in the Arab world to improve and develop its outputs and meet all the requirements and needs of the society that commensurate with the needs of the labor market in order to improve the Arab education systems in light of the rapid changes and information revolution.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that there is an urgent need to pay attention to e-learning and distance education as a cornerstone for achieving the quality of higher education and to work on preparing the standards of digital education to be adopted in the framework of joint cooperation with the League of Arab States.
